Director
Shayla Davis is an award-winning journalist, media strategist, and legal professional based in Northeast Ohio. With a strong foundation in community-centered reporting and legal advocacy, Shayla has dedicated her career to amplifying underrepresented voices, investigating public institutions, and advancing systemic accountability.
She currently serves as a paralegal under Attorney Imokhai Okolo at The Okolo Law Firm LLC, where she supports justice-focused legal advocacy and community-based legal initiatives. Shayla holds an Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, strengthening her expertise in legal research, case analysis, and procedural compliance.
In addition to her legal work, Shayla continues her career in journalism, covering civic affairs, public policy, and community impact stories for the Akron Beacon Journal. She is also the founder of ShayTuned, an independent media platform committed to transparent reporting, public education, and civic engagement.
She has recently accepted the position of National Public Relations Director for New Order National Human Rights Organization, where she leads national communications strategy, public messaging, media relations, and organizational visibility initiatives. In this leadership role, Shayla works to strengthen public awareness, elevate human rights advocacy efforts, and ensure the organization’s mission is clearly and strategically represented across local and national platforms.
Recognized as the Certified E.G.O. STAR Journalist of the Year, Shayla’s work reflects her unwavering commitment to ethical reporting, legal integrity, and community empowerment. Her mission is to bridge media and law to protect civil liberties, promote accountability, and drive meaningful institutional reform.
